When is the Right Time to Introduce Skincare to Children?

Who doesn't understand the changes in facial skin that occur at puberty? Most of us know it well because we have had a similar experience of adolescence. For example, facial skin that is oily and prone to acne. Well, the same thing will be experienced by our children who enter puberty.

If facial skin in children during puberty is not handled correctly, there can be many skin problems that will arise and interfere with their appearance. Of course, we don't want to see children feeling insecure about puberty just because of acne?

Then, what should parents do?

When children enter puberty, parents need to introduce children to skincare products or the right skincare. The introduction of skincare products can be done when a child reaches the age of 12 or 13 when the child starts to enter junior high school. We recommend that you start with light skincare for pre-teen children.

What skincare should be introduced to children for the first time?

When introducing skincare to children, parents need to add facial cleansing products. We recommend that you add your child to a detergent-free facial cleanser (doesn't have a lot of foam, especially for facial soap) and doesn't smell sweet.

Not only introducing facial cleaning products, but children also need to be added to a moisturizer (facial moisturizer). Its function is to keep the child's facial skin moisturized during outdoor activities, especially when the child is taking free sports lessons.

In addition to moisturizing, sunscreen is also essential for parents to introduce to children. We recommend that you use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30% indoors, but use a higher SPF level when your child is outdoors. Now, as additional information, SPF levels can be seen from the density of sunscreens. The denser and stickier it feels, the higher the SPF.

What should you do when your child has acne?

Most children will experience acne during puberty. Even though there is only one in number, remind your child not to squeeze the pimples because it will only cause inflammation.

Not only that, but children's hands that are not necessarily clean and used to squeeze pimples will also actually worsen the acne condition. One-one, instead of disappearing, acne will increasingly adorn the beautiful and handsome face of your child.

Therefore, use a special gel for acne. Ask the child to use the gel only on the area of the face with acne. Of course, do this after the child has cleaned his face. Use the gel for 2-3 days, and then the zits will immediately deflate and dry up.

Helping children take care of the physical changes they experience during puberty is an obligation as parents. Not only changes in body shape that parents need to pay attention to, but changes in facial skin conditions also need to be considered by parents.

Therefore, immediately introduce your child to skincare products as soon as the child enters puberty. Do not let the new children do new facial treatments after many facial skin problems such as acne arise.
